Above is my recolorizing of one of the only few available images of Lady ‘Alī Shāh, the wife of the Nizari Ismai‘ili Imam Āghā Khān II, the others being a portrait of her with her young son and a photo of her leaving the home in old age. The picture of her most satisfying to me is the portrait of her from barakah.com. I ended up finding a vibrantly colorized photo of her from an English-Gujurati photo album at ismaili.net, but it was very fuzzy and dithered. I decided that although the picture from barakah.com seems to be cropped and a reproduction, it was a good candidate to be recolorized in lieu of an existent colored photo.
